Carlos Allende Prieto received his PhD in Astrophysics from the University of
La Laguna (Canary Islands Spain) in 1998. Since then he has been a W.J. McDonald Postdoctoral
Fellow Research Associate and currently Research Scientist at the University of Texas. His
research interests include solar and stellar spectroscopy line formation and model atmospheres
and the structure and evolution of the Milky Way.
