CNS Family Day - October 2011

In conjunction with Texas Parent’s Family Weekend, the College of Natural Sciences hosts Family Day each Fall to showcase each science department. Members of the Astronomy Students Association hosted a table and spent the day providing information about astronomy to visiting families. In addition to globes, pamphlets and telescope demos, this year the group added an exciting demonstration of how a comet is formed using common ingredients like dry ice, dirt, and organic material. This was was a huge hit with the audience.
