Astronomy Freshman Prizes for Excellence $2,000 up to $10,000 Recipients |
Astronomy Freshman Prizes for Excellence are competitive
merit-based scholarships awarded to some of the freshmen with
outstanding promise admitted to the first year of the UT
Astronomy program. The prizes are funded jointly by the UT
Astronomy department excellence funds, and the National Science
Foundation (NSF) STEM Undergraduate Education grant (DUE-0807140)
awarded to the UT "Scientists for Tomorrow" program, which helps toward the long-term success of students of high
academic merit, particularly among groups that are traditionally under-represented in the sciences. |
