"The Seeds of Massive Galaxies" In my talk I will discuss the formation and evolution of massive present-day galaxies through cosmic time as it is predicted in the LCDM paradigm. I will present result from recent high-resolution simulations on the early growth spurting phase at z > 6 and how during this time properties of massive galaxies are set. In particular, I will show results on the impact of baryons on the hosting dark matter haloes, the evolution of the mass function, the re-ionization history of the local environment and the formation of super-massive black holes. University of Edinburgh host: Shardha Jogee |
