The Knowledge of the Cows

by Michael Hymen

Humans of the present era have very much trouble understanding the actions of the humans before them. They refer to them as “mysteries” or “the unknown”. Many ancient human civilizations left behind traces of their lives, i.e. artifacts, monuments, gravesites, building structures, etc. These mysteries intrigue the average human and they commonly analyze these bits and pieces that hold ancient secrets and hypothesize theories about their meaning and purpose and about the people who created them. These deduced stories are passed down and taught as though they are undoubtedly the truth. This installation of “facts” in the human mind prevents the mind from deducing other theories that may be contradictory to the accepted theory. Little do we know that theories that sound ludicrous to our trained minds might be correct.

This story takes place around the present day site of Namoratunga Kalokol around 500 BC…..

A group of terrestrial life forms, from a galaxy unknown to present day human astronomy, were traveling through our galaxy and were spending time on each planet in our solar system searching for other life-forms with which to communicate and learning the biological systems and makeup of each planet.

When arriving on the planet earth, they immediately found many different life forms. Many of them had intricate forms of communication. Of all the different forms of communication, none of them were compatible with the form of communication that the traveling terrestrials used. Their form of communication had no sound, nor could it be seen, or physically felt. Their bodies were not visible to the eyes of the different organisms on earth. They were only visible in a different atmosphere or dimension of light, which didn’t exist on earth.

After much contemplation about the situation, they decided to make some observations of the different organisms that they had found to decide how communicate with them. They found that human beings had already learned to make shelter for themselves from other materials and had organized sounds to communicate with each other in a slightly efficient way. These factors led the visiting terrestrials to be interested in trying to communicate with humans.

They studied the humans until they understood the biological makeup of their bodies. Then, the terrestrials created bodies made of the same materials and with the same biological functions in different amounts in various details such as smaller lungs, or larger spleens for example. The new bodies were larger than the human bodies and covered with hair. The terrestrials inhabited these bodies and used them to try to communicate with the humans. The humans noticed these new beasts and were intrigued by them. The animals they created are the animals that we presently know as cows. The cows tried for some time to communicate through sounds to the humans, but failed time and time again. The ability to make sounds was strange and awkward for the cows and they had trouble organizing the sounds. The aliens then realized that they had to teach their form of communication to the humans, but they didn’t know how they should do it, or how long it would take.

The cows realized that the humans knew little about the planet on which they lived, let alone the stars and outer space. The humans knew little about science, and hence the aliens realized that it was going to be a process much longer than the average lifetime of humans. They decided that the best thing to do would be to show the humans the importance of the stars and how relevant they are to any life. They hoped that in time humans would learn how to communicate in the way that the terrestrials did.

The cows saw that the curious humans meticulously watched the cows’ actions to try to understand them, yet they did so very passively trying to be discreet, in attempt to not be seen by the cows. The cows knew that they were being watched and so they used their actions to show the humans simple concepts about the stars. On certain nights, the cows gathered in a large circle, which caught the attention of the humans because of the cows’ ability to organize themselves, because humans had never seen an animal with this ability, other than themselves. The extra-terrestrials inside of each cow would send all of their energy to the beings inside of the cows next to them, who would be doing the same thing, making a powerful circle of energy. The energy that these extra-terrestrials produced was in a form unknown to any of earth’s inhabitants and much more powerful than any form that has been discovered since.

The energy then shot up into the dark sky and went directly to certain stars that lay next to each other in certain unchanging formations (constellations) making them brighter than the others as they rose in the night sky. The humans were captivated by this feat, but could not understand. The cows performed this ritual on certain nights that came in regular intervals. Humans tried to understand this, but simply could not.

After this ritual had taken place many times, the humans started to notice the constellations that the cows were highlighting weren’t picked at random, and they were able to identify the different constellations even without the cows’ ritual. Then they noticed that the cows were highlighting each constellation in a particular order in relation to the others. Also they highlighted the constellation just as it was rising from the horizon.

After some time, as the humans became familiar with the order of the rising constellations and what angles in the circle of cows allowed them to see them, they recognized what seasonal characteristics followed each one. The humans thought this was very valuable, because it allowed them to know which season to expect and how to prepare for each one. The humans decided to act on this newfound knowledge. They decided to erect pillars in the exact positions of the cows so as to recreate their circle enabling them to see the rising constellations unaided by the cows.

When the cows came to perform their ritual, they noticed that the humans were watching from a much closer area, and as the cows were leaving, they ran to the spot where the circle had been and marked each spot. The humans erected pillars and stones in precisely the positions that the cows had been.

The cows saw that the humans had used the area where their ritual had been performed, and understood by watching them make calculations and observations of the stars from the angles of the pillars, that they had understood what the extra-terrestrials were trying to show them. The humans created a calendar to use with this circle of stones.

The extra-terrestrials had set the wheels in motion and left the bodies of the cows as well as the planet knowing that it would be quite some time before the humans were able to communicate in the way that the visiting terrestrials could. Once humans could communicate in this way, they would immediately be aware of the presence of the terrestrials, and communication would automatically be achieved.

After this exchange of knowledge took place, humans felt as though they owed something to the cows as compensation for using the land which the cows had used for their circle ritual as well as an for the knowledge which they shared with the humans. The humans decided to give the cows the same kind of burial that they gave their own people.
