African Stars

The modern culture of the Borana have a calendar based on the rising of the new Moon or the setting of the full Moon. This calendar has ancient roots and the question of how the calendar works and whether the people who constructed Namoratunga II used the same calendar is central to the possibility that Namoratunga II is an ancient astronomical site.
