There are two typos in HW 5, a very obvious one and a not-obvious one. The obvious typo is in the table of data for question 4: the mass of the Sun should be 1.989 x 10^30 kg = 1.989 x 10^33 gm, not 10^-27 and 10^-24 as listed! (These absurd exponents are a residue from copying and pasting the mass of the proton in order to get the correct format.) The non-obvious typo is in question 3, where you should use 4.1 mA instead of 3.4 mA for the equivalent width of the 1304 A Si II line. This will yield an answer that makes a bit more sense. Finally, in question 1, part (b), the "full width" of the line refers to the entire width of absorption line where it meets the continuum level.
