You can access your grades for Astronomy 307 on
eGradebook.
Course total scores have been computed according to the formula explained in the Syllabus. Your Exam total is
the average of your scores on the three hour exams, with a maximum possible credit of 72. The homework total
is the credit for your six best homework scores, scaled so that 100% credit corresponds to 16.00 (percentage)
points. Finally, you have a participation total of up to 12 (percentage) points. Each of these subtotals is also posted.
Take your Course total score and round up to the next (higher) integer. Then look up the corresponding semester
letter grade in the table below.
The optional comprehensive Final Exam will be given on Monday, Dec. 13, from 2 - 5 PM. If you take this exam and
do better than your previous worst exam score, the score on the final replaces it. If you want to know whether you
can improve on your existing letter grade, replace your worst exam score with the anticipated new score, calculate
the average of the three exams, and add the Homework total and Participation total. Then check in the table below
whether your grade would change.
