Title: Star Formation Then and Now Author(s): Tom Abel Abstract: Recent results on understanding the formation of stars in the present day Universe are contrasted to the situation at high redshift. I will also discuss some comparison between results obtained with the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method vs. mesh based techniques on a range of test problems asking what the situations are under which SPH results are reliable.
