Title: Star Formation in a Low-Metallicity Gas Author(s): Naoki Yoshida Abstract: I present the results from very high-resolution cosmological simulations of star formation in the early universe. The effect of fine-structure cooling by carbon and oxygen, thermal radiation by dust, and the opacity of dust grains are included in the simulations in a direct, self-consistent manner. I discuss the issue of critical metallicity for gas cloud fragmentation and low-mass star formation.
