Title: Supernova Properties in the Early Universe Author(s): Nozomu Tominaga Abstract: The first metal enrichment in the universe was by supernova (SN) explosions of Population (Pop) III stars, and the results are recorded in the chemical abundances of extremely metal-poor (EMP) stars. We investigate the properties of Pop III SNe by comparing their nucleosynthetic yields with the abundance patterns of EMP stars. We discuss nucleosynthesis in SNe of stars of various main-sequence masses and explosion energies and in jet-induced SNe, and show that it can explain the observed trends of the EMP stars. Furthermore, we examine the 17 most metal-poor stars with [Fe/H]<-3.5, present Pop III SN models that reproduce their abundance patterns well, and propose a way to constrain SN properties in the early universe from the observations of EMP stars.
