Title: The Host Galaxies of z=6 Quasars: Gas, Dust, Star Formation, and M-sigma

Author(s): Chris Carilli

Abstract: I will present the latest results on centimeter and millimeter observations of the highest redshift quasars. These observations reveal the cool gas, dust, and star formation in the host galaxies. We find that roughly 1/3 of z~6 quasar host galaxies are also hyperluminous, 'maximal' starburst galaxies, implying rapid galaxy formation coeval with SMBH formation within 1 Gyr of the Big Bang. I will also discuss implications on the M-sigma relation at z ~ 6. I will present the first limits to the molecular gas content of normal galaxies at z > 6, and review the capabilities of the next generation cm and mm telescope to study the cool gas, dust, and star formation in the first normal galaxies into cosmic reionzation.
