Center for Space Research

As a faculty member in geophysics I have had a long interest in the planetary sciences. My PhD work on Earth rotational variations led me to the literature on origin of the moon, evolution of the Earth-moon system, and lunar and other causes of rotational variations. Soon after coming to UT I became involved in space geodesy and I have been a collaborator with the Center for Space Research since its creation in the early 80's. Since then, I have had NASA support in various areas, currently related to the GRACE gravity satellite project, and I recently worked with CSR on a proposal for a similar gravity mission to Mars.
