University of Texas Planetary Science Symposium
Friday, October 2, 2009
Avaya Auditorium - ACES [map]

We would like to bring together people from all across campus (and Austin) who are interested in various aspects of planetary science, so that we can introduce ourselves to each other and let everybody know what we do. There are people interested in Planetary Science in the Astronomy Program, in several parts of the Jackson School of Geosciences, in Aerospace Engineering, and in the Center for Space Research. At least that is what we know of. There are probably also people elsewhere too! The basic idea of the Symposium is to give everybody who wants, a chance to introduce themselves to the UT planetary science community and to give a short presentation on what their planetary science research interests are. The hope is that this might start to foster some interdisciplinary collaborations, possible interdisciplinary courses, a joint planetary science seminar series, or sometime in the future perhaps some sort of cross-discipline research center.

Organizers

Bill Cochran, Department of Astronomy
Jack Holt, Institute for Geophysics, Jackson School of Geosciences
