I work on star formation, which increasingly includes the study of disks that are the birthplaces of planetary systems. Based on large programs with the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Herschel Space Telescope (recently launched), we are putting constraints on large scale properties of disks, the kinds of minerals present, and in some cases the state of water (ice or gas). | ||
