Péridier Library
The Péridier Library serves the faculty, research scientists, and graduate students of the Department of Astronomy and their information needs. The library has a collection of approximately 6,000 volumes of monographs, journals, atlases, theses and dissertations, observatory publications, and some rare items. The collection covers various topics in astronomy but mainly reflects the specific research interests of the faculty and scientists in the department. All items in the collection circulate with the exception of Basic Data and Special Reserve monographs. The Péridier Library is the "sister" institution for the McDonald Observatory Library located at Fort Davis, Texas. Astronomers based in Austin or Fort Davis are encouraged to use both collections in person or through interlibrary loan.
