Deadline
February 10 for applications, transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

Where
McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains, located 200 miles east of El Paso and 130 miles north of Big Bend National Park.

Program Dates
Ten weeks from June 9-August 17, 2008. We may be able to accommodate students whose academic year does not allow them to begin or end on these dates.

Who
Students who will be entering their second-to-last or last year of an undergraduate degree and who are United States citizens or permanent residents. Students from any engineering or science field are encouraged to apply.

Stipend
Students are paid $220/week with housing and all meals included.

How Many
Six undergraduate students will be funded.

Travel
Because McDonald Observatory is a remote facility, students will be responsible for coordinating their travel arrangements with the Observatory Staff. No private vehicle will be required once the student begins the program. A small stipend will be available to students to assist in their relocation.
