2.7m Telescope

Coudé f/32.5

Coudé Spectrometer (cs1)
Scientist: Dr. Bob Tull, (512) 471-3328, rgt@astro.as.utexas.edu

Two separate foci are available

cs11 (6-foot camera) — A moderate-to high-resolution spectrometer which can be used with TK4 as the detector. Maximum resolving power is about 200,000. The plate scale is 10 arcsec/mm (0.24 arcsec/pixel with TK4). Five gratings and two echelles are available for a variety of resolutions. Noiseless co-addition on-chip is available for lower spectral and spatial resolutions. Autoguiding is available.

cs12 (Long focus camera) — A moderate to very-high resolution spectrometer has been used with TK4 CCD as the detector, the replacement CCD for TI2 will be available at this focus. The maximum demonstrated resolving power is 600,000. The plate scale is 2.3 arcsec/mm. Five gratings and two echelles are available to provide a variety of resolutions and wavelength coverage from 0.3 to 1.2 microns. Noiseless co-addition on-chip is available for lower spectral and spatial resolutions. Autoguiding is available.
