Sep. 6	*Exploring Galaxy Formation in the Epoch of Reionisation* In recent years our ability to observationally probe the early phase of galaxy formation has been dramatically transformed, thanks largely to installation of Wide Field Camera 3 on the Hubble Space Telescope. As of 2016 we have now identified around 1000 candidate star forming galaxies at z~7 and above, with the first, albeit small, samples now emerging at z~10. At the same time, simulations of the early Universe have also improved dramatically and it is now possible to carry out hydrodynamical simulations of cosmological volumes. I will present both recent observational results from Hubble, Spitzer, and ALMA and the first result from the BlueTides project. BlueTides is amongst the largest hydro-dynamical galaxy formation simulation ever conducted and will simulate the evolution of the Universe to z~6 using ~700 billion particles within a (400/h)3 Mpc3 co-moving volume. close Stephen Wilkins University of Sussex host: Steve Finkelstein
