Frank and Susan Bash have contributed generously to the Austin astronomical and civic communities for 34 years.
Colleagues, students, and friends have enjoyed their hospitality as they have opened their home on many occasions.
Married in 1960, Frank and Susan are the proud parents of Katie and Lee and grandparents of Truman.
While Frank was working to develop the UT Radio Astronomy Observatory, the Millimeter Wave Observatory, the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory, and McDonald Observatory, he found time for KMFA, Austin's classical music station. Susan has managed the Watson and Co. bookstore, raised funds for the Austin Public Library, and organized the Texas Civil Liberties Union. Frank and Susan Bash are treasured by the astronomy community in Austin and in West Texas, and by their many friends in Austin and around the world. |
