I study objects with low masses and cool temperatures, from stars at the bottom of the main sequence to extrasolar planets and everything in between (brown dwarfs). I am interested in understanding how these objects form and evolve over their lifetimes. Most of my research focuses on using high-precision positional measurements from optical and infrared cameras, including adaptive optics imaging, to determine orbits, dynamical masses, and distances.
