LIST OF MOdELS 1) Mar 6 models See mr.sadegh.mar6 Assume `100% of gas consumed by SF during major merger - model.sadegh.fort.6308.mar6-08 - data_old.dat.mar6-08 = use this one for Mar 6 as it has new wmap5 cosmology 2) /data1/proust/sj/azur1/res-grd/weinz/khochfar/may20-08 - model.sadegh.may20-08 = wrong implementation --- ignore 3) /data1/proust/sj/azur1/res-grd/weinz/khochfar/may3-08 See mr2.sk.may23-08 Assume fraction f of gas is consumed by SF during major merger Use prescription of Cox et al., I used Eq. 5 with e1:1=0.55 and gamma=0.69. **************************************************************** STATS OF MODELS 1) model = model.sadegh.fort.6308.mar6-08 REDO THIS WITH data_old.dat.mar6-08 as it has new wmap5 cosmology See mr.sadegh.mar6 # Results of a cosmological simulation in a box of 1E6 Mpc^3. # Major merger is 1/4 < m1/m2 <= 1/1 # Assumes all gas in a major merger get converted to stars # To clarify, when we define spirals we do that using the bulge-to-total fraction of stars in an individual galaxy, i.e. B/T < 0.6. Since you might want to use a different definition for a spiral I send you all galaxies I find with masses above 1.E8 M_sun (please note that we are probably only complete above 1E6 M_sun). It should be straight forward to split this galaxy sample into early type and late type galaxies and look at the distribution of B/T. Please let me know if you have problems with the data. -- SOME BASIC STATS OF THE MODEL Model = /data1/proust/sj/azur1/res-grd/weinz/burkert/model.sadegh.fort.6308.mar6-08 Applied cutoff in stellar mass = 1.00000e+10 Applied cutoff in B/T = 1.00000 Total no of galaxies with above cutoffs 8216 No and % of such galaxies with major+minor merger 2496 30.3797 No and % of such galaxies with only minor mergers 5720 69.6203 No and % of such galaxies with B/T<=0.2 4675 56.9012 No and % of such galaxies w/ major+minor merger and B/T<=0.2 121 1.47274 No and % of such galaxies w/ only minor mergers and B/T<=0.2 4554 55.4284 No and % of such galaxies with B/T>=0.4 2155 26.2293 No and % of such galaxies w/ major+minor merger and B/T>=0.4 2071 25.2069 No and % of such galaxies w/ only minor mergers and B/T>=0.4 84 1.02240 /data1/proust/sj/azur8/tib15/gems/idl-scripts/bulge-khochfar/plt1.model.may12-08.ps ************************************************************************ model.sadegh.may20-08 THIS HAS WRONG IMPLEMENTATION.
