Photo I am Andreas Pawlik, a postdoctoral researcher at the astrophysics department at the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas Cosmology Center. I am working with Prof. Volker Bromm and Prof. Milos Milosavljevic to explore the observational signatures of the very first stars and galaxies.

I obtained my PhD at the University of Leiden (The Netherlands). There I developed a radiative transfer method for use with simulations of the Epoch of Reionisation, which is one of the last unexplored epochs in the history of the formation and evolution of galaxies in the Universe. I wrote my thesis with title Simulating Cosmic Reionisation under the supervision of Prof. Joop Schaye and Prof. Huub Rottgering.

As an undergraduate student I worked at the physics department of the University of Potsdam (Germany). I wrote my diploma (MSc equivalent) thesis with title Effects of Noise and Delay on Non-linear Oscillators in the group Statistical Physics and Chaos Theory under the supervision of Prof. Arkady Pikovsky.

On this site you can find information about myself, my research interests and other things you may find interesting. If you would like to contact me, please find my contact details below.
