For ten years, ending in December of 2011, I was on staff with the Department of Astronomy and McDonald Observatory. My work focused on building critical infrastructure needed to support science, adademic, and outreach operations. As the Systems Architect, I oversaw the technical operation of their IT presense, including: LAN, WAN, WiMAX Residential, Central Servers, SAN, NAS, and emergency power systems.
I am now a Senior Network Engineer with the The University of Texas System Office of Telecommunication Systems, which provides connectivity solutions for the UT System partner institutions.
