Since May 2000 redshifts for roughly 500 galaxies selected from the photometric catalogue of MUNICS could be measured. These observations were carried out using the MOSCA spectrograph at the 3.5-m telescope of Calar Alto Observatory (Spain), the FORS instruments at the Very Large Telescope operated by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), and the Low Resolution Spectrograph (LRS) at the Hobby-Eberly Telescope (HET) on McDonald Observatory (Texas). The histogram of spectroscopic redshifts can be seen below.
