The HET Structure: At trial erection at Mexia Fabricators (a branch of Comsat/Radiation Systems, Inc.) in Mexia, Texas, the structure is measured and found to be dimensionally accurate. The top of the structure stands nearly 70 feet above the ground. The structure was initially designed by Steven Medwadowski, who also designed the Keck telescope structure. It exhibits a first natural frequency above 5 Hz, with the tracker and payload in place.
