The previous version of TCSGUI was updated 10 Dec 01:

Notable changes were:
1) Improved obstruction mask for flip cage, east side of the axis. Also, code was added to handle the area around the pole and the vertical edge of the north pier which were poorly handled by the look up table. More work remains to be done. A coding problem which could result in the telescope failing to slow at the 5 degree limit while under hand paddle control was discovered and fixed.

2) The worklist handling was improved by increasing the allowable size of a worklist to 500 entries, default to 'close' rather than 'clear' on the skyplot, etc. The worklist is now read into memory rather than reading the disk file every time a different entry is needed.

3) Tcsmon would move at slew speed out of limits.This was fixed so that tcsmon will give an error if started in the 1 degree limit and start in the search speed if in the 5 degree limit.

4) Made 'basic' obstruction mask password protected.

5) Provided gui-based error if the tcsmon could not read the mount or setup files on startup.

6) Added messages to gui reboot and tcsmon restart confirmation pop-ups to remind the user to start tcsmon at zenith and do zeros before observing.

7) Limit events and autoslew button presses are now written to the logs.

8) Ricklefs was officially retired from the TCS project in a low-key ceremony.

9) Log file cycles once per day at 00h UT. This should reduce the number of TCS hangs during observing.

3.20  does not have all of the TCS communications updates but is otherwise usable.
3.21 had a serious bug and has been archived and deleted.
3.22 had a serious bug and has been archived and deleted.
3.23 experimental version - has not been tested on site.  Primarily contains TCS communications fixes.  This version used the wrong blue/yellow box drawing/locking model from the HET.  It has been archived and deleted.
3.24 experimental version - has not been tested on site.  Same as 3.23 except that the correct blue/yellow box drawing/locking model has has used.  NB - the "Autoguider Enabled" button in the guider window is NOT selected by default.  You must select it after drawing the yellow box.  Once the blue and yellow boxes are drawn, the autoguider  enabled button is selected, and the guider start button is clicked, both the blue and yellow boxes are locked (prevented from being deleted).  The locked condition is graphically denoted by the boxes being drawn two pixels wide instead of the default of one (one pixel wide box lines denote the unlocked state).  Deleting the yellowbox always deselects the autoguider enabled button and grays it out.
3.25 Current version. No known issues.

•Make sure to type the ScanCo "Integration Time" in the corresponding box from "Setup..."  on the "Expose" pulldown menu
•Make sure to select your instrument from the "Instrument" pulldown.
•Ask for help in using the "Markers" to generate quick telescope moves
•New support for IRAF's "skysub" allows autoguiding during nods by moving guiding fiducial.  Make sure you set guiderp.host = "mimas.as.utexas.edu" in IRAF.

3.27 Actually worked but blue/yellow box drawing sequence and locking was based on an earlier HET model.  Archived and removed.
3.28 Probably works - not yet tested on site.  Fixes blue/yellow box drawing sequence and locking now based on current HET model. NB - the "Autoguider Enabled" button in the guider window is NOT selected by default.  You must select it after drawing the yellow box.  Once the blue and yellow boxes are drawn, the autoguider enabled button is selected, and the guider start button is clicked, both the blue and yellow boxes are locked (prevented from being deleted).  The locked condition is graphically denoted by the boxes being drawn two pixels wide instead of the default of one (one pixel wide box lines denote the unlocked state).  Deleting the yellow box always deselects the autoguider enabled button and grays it out.  This version also contains an instrument setup for Nirshell.  This version has been withdrawn as of 20 Apr 2000 due to an occassional error in redrawing the yellow box.  Due to be fixed shortly and rereleased as 3.29. This version has been removed.
3.29 This is essentially 3.28 released with fixes to the error in redrawing the yellow box.  This version has not yet been fully tested on site.
3.30 This is 3.29 with a few bugs fixes.  Not yet fully tested on site.
3.31 Current version. No known issues.

telescope telpars.ra="+20" telpars.dec="-4" ; moves the telescope
guider(command="guiding on") ; turn guiding back on
